Grilled BBQ Pork Chops with Hawaiian-Style Sauce

July 22, 2020

Grilled BBQ pork chops offer a smoky, savory meat that makes a lighter-tasting lunch or dinner than lamb chops but is quicker to cook and easier to manage than a pork loin. Grill these boneless pork chops just enough so they reach an internal temperature of 145ºF; it's easy to overcook these chops and once they turn rubbery, no amount of sweet-smoky-umami barbecue sauce can rescue them. While lightly smoky, chargrilled pork chops possess a summery savory flavor all their own, baste them with a Whole30 and Primal/paleo BBQ sauce with island-inspired ingredients and it's like an instant taste-bud trip to the tropics. Our Hawaiian-Style BBQ Sauce features organic pineapple juice concentrate, organic coconut aminos, organic garlic, and natural smoke flavor for a taste of Polynesian fusion.

Grilled BBQ Pork Chops with Hawaiian-Style Sauce

Time: 35 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients

Raw boneless pork chops on a plate with Primal Kitchen Hawaiian-Style BBQ Sauce and Avocado Oil on the side

Instructions

  • Rub the pork chops in the avocado oil.
  • Mix the chipotle powder, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl. Sprinkle seasoning mixture on both sides of each pork chop. Rub the seasoning into the pork chops so they're fully coated. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat one side of your grill to medium heat. Place the pork chops on the heated side and grill for 2 minutes.
  • Turn the pork chops 90 degrees and cook for an additional 2 minutes to get grill marks. Flip the pork chops over and repeat the process.
  • Move the pork chops to the unlit side of the grill and close the cover. Grill the pork chops until the internal temperature reaches 145ºF. If you have a meat thermometer, insert it into one of the chops before you close the lid so you don't have to lift the lid again as the meat cooks.
  • Note: If you're using thicker cut pork chops, the cook time will be a little longer.
  • When the pork gets close to reaching the goal temperature, remove the lid and brush the top of each chop with Primal Kitchen Hawaiian-Style BBQ Sauce.
  • When the pork comes off of the grill, brush both sides of each chop with the remaining BBQ sauce.
