Strawberry Spinach Salad

If you haven’t tried a spinach salad with strawberries and feta before, you’re missing out on a "berry" delicious combo! This trifecta of simple ingredients provides the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and earthy notes plus softer textures contrasted with a little bit of crunch and chewy bite from the fresh spinach. While strawberry spinach salad is usually a summer offering at restaurants, you can make one at home year-round.
Our take on this popular restaurant salad also includes sliced onions and almonds, although you can easily substitute walnuts or sunflower seeds. The secret sauce (well, dressing) that marries all of these beautiful flavors together in harmony is our Poppyseed Dressing. A creamy vinaigrette, this dreamy dressing is made with real ingredients like avocado oil, organic vinegar, and onion puree for a savory flavor with just a hint of sweetness. This Strawberry Spinach Salad is also delicious topped with shredded rotisserie chicken or air-fried tofu for added protein.

This refreshing, restaurant-worthy strawberry spinach salad is perfect for a light lunch or weekly meal prep. Crafted with simple ingredients like fresh berries, briny feta, and crunchy almonds brought together with delicious Primal Kitchen Poppyseed Dressing, it’s a salad you and your family will crave again and again.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 6 cups fresh baby spinach, washed and dried
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
Directions
Start by toasting the almonds: Add sliced almonds to a small pan over medium heat. Cook almonds for about 5 minutes, tossing regularly, until they become fragrant and turn golden brown. Once toasted, immediately transfer almonds to a plate to cool for 5 minutes.
- In a large salad bowl, combine the baby spinach, strawberries, red onion, feta cheese, and almonds. Toss gently to mix the ingredients evenly.
Just before serving, drizzle poppy seed dressing over the salad and gently toss to coat.
Serve and enjoy, or portion out for weekly meal prep.
