Get ready for the creamiest cheese sandwich you’ve ever tasted! If you’re not already familiar with burrata, it’s basically a fresh mozzarella cheese ball (the kind you find floating in tubs of water at the grocery store) stuffed with velvety cream. On the outside, it looks sturdy but soft. Cut in and you’re rewarded with a smooth, dreamy center that has all the elegance of a fancy spread.
Burrata is often found on charcuterie plates or paired with tomato slices as an elegant appetizer. Thanks to a viral social trend, burrata has found a new home on top of crisp, chewy bread as the ultimate creamy filling for a sandwich.
We paired it with classic Italian flavors like fresh Roma tomatoes and tangy Balsamic Dressing for a sandwich that brings the best of a caprese salad. To give it even more richness, and also to stop any moisture from the cheese seeping into the bread, we tucked in a layer of our creamy Mayo with Avocado Oil. Ready to dig in? Taste real Italian flavor with just five minutes of easy prep! Made with cream-stuffed mozzarella cheese, Roma tomatoes, and salty prosciutto, this fresh take on the viral burrata sandwich is undeniably delicious. Creamy avocado oil mayo and tangy balsamic make this caprese sandwich recipe worth putting on repeat.
Ingredients
Directions
Slice each ciabatta roll in half horizontally.
Spread mayo inside both halves of each roll.
Top the bottom half of each roll with half of the burrata and gently spread it with a butter knife.
Layer prosciutto and tomatoes on top of the cheese.
Place the arugula in a small bowl. Toss with the balsamic dressing to coat.
Add the dressed arugula to each sandwich. Finish with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Top each sandwich with the other half of the roll. Serve and enjoy!
