Easy sides for hamburgers:
What's the best type of meat to use for burgers?
We recommend lean ground beef, but you could use any ground meat of your choice like ground lamb.
Refrigerate beef patties until chilled prior to grilling to prevent the beef burgers from falling apart while on the grill. This is helpful for lean meat that has less fat to hold the burger together.
How to form a burger patty
Combine all ingredients into your patty mixture. Typically, you want your burger to be about 4 - 6 oz. If you're not sure how much to grab out of the both, use a measuring cup and scoop out 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of patty mixture, and roll it into a ball. Then press down with the palm of you hand to form it into a patty.
How to tell when a patty is done
We suggest using a meat thermometer to gauge if the burger is done. Slide it horizontally into the side of the burger—that way it's less likely to go all the way through the meat.
