Enjoy the savory grilled flavor of your favorite Asian restaurant rice bowl at home! Made with juicy grilled steak, rice, veggies, and our mouthwatering Yum Yum Dipping Sauce, this easy bowl deconstructs all the best parts of a beef kabob meal.
Ingredients
1 lb. lean steak such as petite sirloin
-
Primal Kitchen Sesame Ginger Dressing, for marinating
-
1 Tbsp. Primal Kitchen Pure Avocado Oil
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
- ½ small red onion, sliced
- 1-2 green onion stalks, cut into small pieces
-
Primal Kitchen Yum Yum Dipping Sauce, for serving
- 2 cups cooked rice (or cauliflower rice)
Directions
Trim your steak. In a bowl, thoroughly cover the steak with Sesame Ginger Dressing and marinate for at least one hour (up to overnight).
Cook the steak: Preheat your grill or griddle pan to medium-high. Once hot, cook steak for about 5 minutes per side, flipping once, for medium doneness. Set the steak aside to rest.
Preheat a skillet to medium. Add avocado oil, broccoli, pepper, and red onion. Cover and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Uncover and add the diced green onion. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes uncovered, until broccoli reaches desired tenderness.
Slice the steaks into bite-sized pieces. Divide the cooked rice evenly between 4 bowls. Top each serving with ¼ of the veggie mix and ¼ of the diced steak. Drizzle with Yum Yum Sauce.
- Serve with extra Yum Yum Sauce for dipping and enjoy!

Kabobs are the perfect grilling food. From the perfectly seared outer skin to the juicy interior, meat and veggies basically drip with flavor in every good kabob recipe. We admit we love any food that’s served on a stick, but sometimes you simply don’t have time to fuss with soaking the bamboo stakes or threading metal skewers.
That’s where this simple but delicious deconstructed kabob bowl comes in. We took all the best parts of your typical kabob recipe, including marinating the steak in advance and grilling in those gorgeous char lines, and tweaked it for a no-mess, less-hassle version tucked neatly inside a bowl. Drizzled over the top of a veggie, rice, and beef trifecta, the tangy and slightly sweet taste of our Yum Yum Dipping Sauce provides the final touch that brings this dish together in delicious harmony.
