The crispy chicken sandwich is one of our favorite drive-thru obsessions. Made with a fried chicken patty slathered in a savory sauce and topped with juicy pickles, it’s the kind of sammy you want to sink your teeth into before you even pull away from the pickup window. Not that we’re admitting we’ve done this, but let’s just say some fast-food employees somewhere have a story.
Skip the curbside chow down and whip up this delicious classic chicken sandwich recipe in the comfort of your own home. We used a pre-cooked crispy chicken breast to save time, covered with crisp cole slaw for extra bite and savory dill pickles that add just the right level of sourness. We also swapped out the mystery drive-thru condiments (likely filled with corn syrup and other Primal no-nos) for our new Chicken Dippin’ Sauce. Crafted with real ingredients and no seed oils or artificial sweeteners, it puts your favorite chain restaurant chicken back on the menu.

Drizzled with tangy Chicken Dippin’ Sauce, this cleaned-up twist on a drive-thru fave gives all the fast-food feels without the regret. We used leftover fried chicken breast, but you can substitute your favorite frozen chicken breast patty or grab pre-cooked chicken tenders from the deli counter and stack them up on your sandwich.
Ingredients
- 2 gluten-free buns
- 2 pre-made fried chicken patties
- 1 cup cole slaw veggie mix

3 tablespoons Primal Kitchen Mayo with Avocado Oil
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 8 dill pickle rounds

4 tablespoons Primal Kitchen Chicken Dippin’ Sauce
Directions
Combine mayo and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl and stir until well-mixed. Add cole slaw mix and toss to coat. Set aside.
- Heat your chicken patties according to the package directions or make your own using this recipe. Pat with a paper towel to remove any excess grease.
- Open the buns and place one bun on each plate. Place a chicken patty on each bottom bun.
- Top each chicken patty with half of the coleslaw and 4 dill pickle slices. Drizzle two tablespoons of Chicken Dippin’ Sauce on top.
- Cover with the top bun. Serve and enjoy!
