There’s a good reason why the grinder sandwich went viral on Tik Tok recently. Filled with various meats, cheeses, and veggies this sandwich is guaranteed to satisfy. The secret ingredient though, is the shredded lettuce combined with various veggies instead of layered on top of one another like a traditional sandwich.
This version takes the grinder sandwich a step further and includes Primal Kitchen Poppyseed Dressing! This dressing delivers the sweet-meets-savory taste of the cherished classic but with an elevated ingredient list that includes avocado oil and organic apple cider vinegar. Plus, everything is sandwiched between Outer Aisle sandwich rounds. Scale this grinder sandwich up or down to fit your needs, regardless it’s going to be delicious!

Loaded with cheese, meats, and a creamy salad with lettuce, onion, peppers, and a dressing using Primal Kitchen Poppyseed Dressing, this grinder sandwich is a fun twist on a classic sandwich.

Ingredients

½ cup Primal Kitchen Poppyseed Dressing
1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon oregano
2 Tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
½ head of chopped iceberg or romaine lettuce
¼ medium red onion, sliced or chopped
⅓ cup pepperoncini or banana peppers, chopped
1 teaspoon of chopped garlic or shallots
Thiny sliced tomatoes
Choice of deli meats (ex. salami, turkey, ham or prosciutto)
Slices of provolone

Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together the Primal Kitchen Poppyseed Dressing, red wine vinegar, salt, red pepper flakes (if using), Italian seasoning, oregano and grated Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped lettuce, red onion, pepperoncini or banana peppers, and chopped garlic or shallots.
Pour the prepared dressing over the salad ingredients and toss well to combine. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Bake or air fry your Outer Aisle Sandwich Rounds.
To assemble the sandwich lay down one slice of an Outer Aisle Sandwich Rounds as the base then layer your choice of deli meats over it, add a slice of provolone cheese, top with some thinly sliced tomatoes, and spoon a generous amount of the prepared salad. Close the sandwich with another slice of Outer Aisle Sandwich Rounds.
Recipe Note
Optional Grilling: If you prefer a hot sandwich, you can optionally grill the assembled sandwich in a panini press or stovetop grill pan for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is heated through.
