BBQ Shrimp

Bold and smoky BBQ flavors aren't reserved for ribs and chicken - try it on seafood! This BBQ Shrimp recipe is done in just 15 minutes and can be re-imagined over and over again.
Keep frozen shrimp on-hand and you can whip up the recipe anytime you need a last-minute dinner idea. Eat it as the main dish with a side of vegetables, toss them on top of a salad, or line them up in your tacos. The possibilities are endless with BBQ Shrimp.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil
1/3 cup minced red onion
1 pound peeled, tail-on raw shrimp

1/3 cup Primal Kitchen Classic BBQ Sauce
3 tablespoons coconut aminos
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup broth
1 tablespoon butter
1 ½ tablespoons chopped parsley
Directions
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat the oil in a skillet on your stovetop over medium heat.
Once hot, add the onion and saute for a few minutes, until the onion is soft. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes on each side, or until they are just cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the pan.
Add the BBQ sauce, coconut aminos and broth to the pan. Bring to a simmer and stir until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Stir in the shrimp and coat them in the sauce.
Turn off the heat and stir in the butter, then fold in half of the parsley. Plate the shrimp and top with remaining parsley and enjoy!
Recipe Note
Serve alongside your favorite vegetable. We like these bbq shrimp over a cauliflower or potato mash.
Feel free to use shrimp with the tails off. Just make sure they are cleaned, peeled and raw shrimp.
