FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You Might Be Wondering…

What type of collagen do you use in Primal Kitchen Collagen Peptides?

We use bovine collagen peptides that come from cows.

Why is my collagen clumping when I mix it into liquids? How do I minimize the clumps?

If your collagen powder is clumping together, don't sweat it! The same stuff that helps support hair, skin & nails may also cause natural clumping. Add a small amount of liquid to the powder and whisk thoroughly to minimize clumps. Slowly add more liquid and continue whisking. This should help dissolve the powder, reducing the clumps.

What is collagen?

Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in your body, accounting for about a third of its protein composition. Collagen production naturally declines with age. You get some collagen protein from your diet when you eat animal products, and collagen may also be sourced from animals and made into edible powders.

What is hydrolyzed collagen?

Collagen peptides are collagen proteins that have been broken down into smaller pieces for easier absorption. This process is called hydrolysis, so sometimes you’ll see the word “hydrolyzed” on collagen product labels. Primal Kitchen Collagen Peptides are hydrolyzed.

How long does my Primal Kitchen Collagen last?

Each canister has an expiration date printed on the bottom of the package. Please store tightly sealed and in a cool, dry place.
